The mural is part of an initiative to beautify one of the most traveled streets in the City of Orlando.

Orlando, Florida (February 17, 2021) – The Gateway Orlando District unveiled a vivid mural on the façade of the iconic Sedano’s Supermarkets located on South Semoran Boulevard and Curry Ford. The mural, created by Harry Foreman, a professional artist and University of Central Florida graduate, depicts the diverse, eight mile Semoran corridor, which is home to more than 100 restaurants offering culinary delights from around the world.

"There is no question that the arts make our city stronger by connecting residents to one another, enriching our lives, and creating a unique sense of place that we can all share," said Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer. "The new mural in our Gateway Orlando District is a wonderful addition to our city's growing arts scene and showcases our community's vibrancy, diversity, and commitment to inclusion."

The new mural, titled “Diverse Palate” will be seen by over 75,000 cars a day as they visit the highly traveled Gateway Orlando District, which spans from Colonial Drive to the Orlando International Airport.

Diverse Palate is part of a larger initiative to beautify the Gateway Orlando District through arts and culture. An initiative started by our late president Susan Wilcox, whose vision was to enhance the Semoran Blvd. corridor and create beautiful spaces for the community to experience meaningful visual and performing art that elevate the vitality of the region.

"Art depicts our most inner feelings and a painting of this magnitude represents the successes, the plans, the hopes, and the state of mind of a community. A mural that inspires is a mural that depicts a well-planned community on the rise. When we look at this mural we will always remember who inspired the community to move this far, Susan Wilcox." – Orlando Commissioner Tony Ortiz.

“At Sedano’s Supermarkets, fostering culture, flavors, and traditions is at the core of our business. We are proud to be part of this vibrant community.” said, Javier Herrán, Chief Marketing Officer at Sedano's Supermarkets. The Gateway Orlando District encourages its community members to visit the mural and continue to visit the plethora of choices for International dining right here in the City Beautiful.
